Teodora, smiling at the camera

Hey 👋

I’m Teodora, a digital accessibility enthusiast.

What can I help you with?

  • Digital Accessibility Audits

I can analyze your digital products (websites, apps, documents) in order to find accessibility issues that your users might encounter. I can also suggest technical remediation solutions.

I audit using both automated testing and manual testing, as automated testing doesn't find all possible issues.

I audit in accordance with standards required by accessibility laws. I can help you comply with the current European standard, EN 301 549(opens new tab), which references the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1(opens new tab) level AA. My recommendation is to opt for, at minimum, WCAG 2.2(opens new tab) (or ISO/IEC 40500:2025(opens new tab)) level AA instead, as these newer guidelines will be part of the standard in the near future.

I also have experience with the particularities of the Dutch accessibility law.

  • Accessible Design Systems

In short, a Design System means building and maintaining generic components, and then using them across multiple products. This helps with brand consistency and also reduces costs. In order to create an accessible page, the components must be accessibility-ready.

I have experience making design systems more accessible, as I've been involved in:

    • analyzing the level of accessibility of existing components
    • writing technical requirements for development teams (designers, developers, testers)
    • implementing, maintaining and testing components
  • Accessibility Consulting and Planning

The topic of accessibility can seem very intimidating in the beginning and you may be wondering where to even start. I can help you take the first steps!

I've worked in Agile(opens new tab) teams as a Business Analyst on a Design System project. While on this project, I've identified issues and prioritized accessibility features. I've also written thorough specifications for development teams for general technical improvements and accessibility.

    As of 2022, I'm a certified Professional Scrum Product Ownerâ„¢ I (PSPO I)(opens in a new tab).

  • Frontend Development focused on Accessibility

I have hands-on experience creating, maintaining and testing user interfaces with accessibility in mind. In terms of roles, I'd more accurately describe myself as a "Front-of-the-front-end" (opens new tab) Developer.

I believe the most efficient way to obtain accessible experiences is by using semantic HTML and built-in browser features as much as possible.

As of 2025, I'm a certified Web Accessibility Specialist(opens in a new tab).
